What is the nazar?

While the Nazar Boncuğu is a Turkish name, it is not only a Turkish tradition of owing such amulets. That’s a cultural object widely spread in Israel, Egypt, Bulgaria, Greece, India and some other countries. Nowadays the nazar is very popular. Nazars are able to ward off the evil eye as the devil is captured inside it, thus, repelling negative energy. Nazar beads protect pregnant women, babies and other easy targets of people being capable to bring bad luck both consciously and subconsciously.
