Nessebar, an ancient Bulgarian town
If you stay at Sunny Beach resort zone in Bulgaria you can easily visit an ancient town named Nessebar. Take bus 1 and get off at the Old Town bus-stop. Ancient City of Nessebar is situated on a rocky peninsula on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. When you first see ancient bricks of a fortress, you feel that time has stopped to show off the uniqueness of the place. Remains of Fortifications At the beginning of the 6th century BC, the city became a Greek colony. That is why here you can see the city’s remains, which date mostly from the Hellenistic period. They include the acropolis, a temple of Apollo, an agora and a wall from the Thracian fortifications.
