To fly or not to fly?

Despite the fact that all modern world lives in a furious pace and our scientists try hard to make our existence easier by inventing newer facilities and conveniences, some people still prefer using terrestrial means of transport to travelling by plane. And there is not only economical reason.

Continual bad breaking news about all kind of crashes has been thrilling the superstitious minds all over the world. A common person would think twice before booking a flight. It is easier with businessmen. To travel as fast as to make decisions is highly important because of a constant competition.

Uncountable social surveys rank buses and cars as the most dangerous means of transport, while trains are on the 2nd position, water transport enjoys the 3rd position, finally, airplanes take the last rate out of four positions in the statistics list.

Shall we speculate about advantages and disadvantages of travelling by planes? On the one hand, speaking about long distances, flying is the fastest way to get from one place to another. That is certainly the biggest advantage. On the other hand, it is not a cheap form of transportation. Surely this fact can be included to disadvantages. However, plane tickets can be purchased by phone or on the Internet, as we now do with train tickets. It is easy, fast and convenient. Such a sterile way of getting rid of annoying queues. Also mind a professional service of a friendly crew on board. Stress during taking off and landing may be referred to disadvantages, but we should admit that is an individual factor as well as aerophobia, a poor stomach or other biological points that can cause troubles while travelling by any kind of transport.

To fly or not to fly? Each person decides himself according to the situation. In fact, to watch the sky with amazing clouds so close to you and to observe a tiny part of our planet from above is worth coping with fear and prejudice against flying. Just think our ancestors could only dream about flights. And we are lucky to have a chance to do it.
